So i have given it some thought, and maybe i won't change the name of my blog. Ultimately it is not because so many of you said you liked the name, but because if figure if people out there in cyber space are already linked to me, it would do me no good to go and change on them, not that i was going to change the URL anyways. So i guess 'blogito ergo sum' is here to stay.

Just in case you were curious, i was planning on changing the name to 'turtles all the way down'. Either you get the reference or you don't. And if you do, you are likely a nerd or geek or some sort. I know the story via Clifford Geertz, but apparently it also appears as a witty anecdote involving Bertrand Russell in A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME by Stephen Hawkings.

And just in terms of a diss up date - things are not going well. I had wanted to have twelve pages written by Monday. That meant three pages a day starting today. So far i have written about 250 words. But they are damn good words!!

Scholars come in all types - not just society's perception of a scholar.

Finally caught up on the blog. Really liked the excerpts from the cult article. The full article and the one linked to is very interesting and telling.

I have linked to the blog and will check it more regularly.

Yours forever in geekdom,
The Brain

Keep chippin' away at the diss. You will feel better once you reach those little milestones you set for yourself along the way. I know you can do it!

As for nerds, the Dog and I both consider ourselves nerds, but I doubt either of us would recognize that quote. Perhaps a blog on the joys of nerd-dom and the different types of nerds that exist is in order. What defines a nerd, dear friend?
