Happy Bloomsday Everybody!!

One hundred years ago today Harold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus enacted their epic journeys through Dublin in James Joyce's ULYSSES. Yes, it is true, celebrations are taking place all over the world in honour of two fictious characters of a novel few people have actually read, and fewer understood.

Vancouver is playing host to a 24hour coninuous reading of Ulysses in order to raise money for the Carnagie Learning Centre. Sounds exciting i know. Starts at the Granville Book Company and ends, appropriatey enough, at the Irish Heather Pub in Gastown. I'm not sure, but if i play my cards right the Brain could be convinced to go later today.
